Współczesne wysoko produkcyjne odmiany genetyczne drobiu mięsnego są bardzo wymagające pod względem warunków utrzymania i wrażliwe na nagłe zmiany czynników środowiskowych. Stres wywołany niedopełnieniem norm i zaleceń dotyczących warunków utrzymania ptaków prowadzi do pogorszenia wyników produkcyjnych oraz obniżenia jakości i bezpieczeństwa uzyskanych produktów.
